بدأ حفل توزيع جوائز الأوسكار في دورته 89، في تمام الساعة الثالثة والنصف فجر اليوم الأثنين، بتوقيت القاهرة، عبر قناة OSN المشفرة، والذي يقام بمسرح «دولبي» في لوس أنجلوس.
ويقدم هذا الحفل المذيع الأمريكي الشهير جيمي كيمل، صاحب برنامج «ليت نايت ويذ جيمي كيمل»، ويحظى برنامجه بشعبية كبيرة ويتابعه الملايين من الناس من مختلف بلدان العالم.
ويخوض كل من النجم العالمي كيسي أفليك، وأندرو جارفيلد، ورايان جوسلينج، وفيجو مورتينسين، ودنزل واشنطن؛ المنافسة على لقب أوسكار أفضل ممثل، بينما تخوض كل من إيزابيل أوبير، ميريل ستريب، آنيت بنينج، ناتلي بورتمان، وإيما ستون، المنافسة على لقب أفضل ممثلة.
