Al-Masry Al-Youm has learnt that State Council Secretary-General Motaz Kamel Morsy will meet tomorrow with the group of 31 that the Supreme Administrative Court ordered their appointment at the council as deputy representatives. He would complete the procedures for their appointment before a presidential decree is issued to this effect.
Council sources said the meeting was first planned to take place on Wednesday with Nabil Mirham, the president of the council, and that the group members were asked come in their uniforms. Yet it was later changed to meeting with the secretary-general.
Chancellor Morsy said the State Council is the bulwark of legitimacy and the only body mandated to protect the provisions of the judiciary, let alone the provisions issued by the council itself. “It is not possible to implement the provision on the G-31 right the next day. It must undergo rules and procedures,” he said.
He added that the names of the G-31 will be sent to the Ministry of Justice for their appointment decree, now that the security bodies have excluded seven of them for security reasons.
